We all have expectations in life, we look forward to things, holidays, new clothes, night out, new car, whatever it may happen to be. But sometimes our expectations especially of other people are beyond what is often reasonable. What we would do for others could be far greater than they do for us, yet what they do could be their best from their perspective. Don't ever let yourself down by taking reality out of the equation that way you can feel excited about what you are looking forward to but not disadvantage yourself at the same time.
