The Chameleon Effect is where you play the field and pretend (often subconsciously) to be what the other person or persons are seeking. When this happens you become everything to everybody and nothing to yourself. There is a difference in trying to secure ground with someone say for an interview and heeding somewhat to what is being sought after, but that's just a game in recruitment or where other similar situations arise.
